Guest Appearance on Press Pause

presspauseYesterday I went in for a guest co-host sort of appearance on Mevio’s video game show show Press Pause. Thanks to Carlos for having me on. After going over the news and upcoming releases, we chatted about digital distribution and how it’s messing up things like sales charts. It’s especially true on the PC, where you can download brand new hot AAA games the same day they’re available in stores, and those sales never get counted on the “charts.”

Anyway, I’m going to try embedding the episode after the break here. I have no idea how I did – I can’t stand watching myself on video, so I try not to do it.

I’m a freelance journalist about games and computing! :)
First, I was an editor at one of the first major games websites, ogr.com. (It’s not around anymore, but you can find it at the internet archive.) Then I was an editor at Computer Games Magazine, in charge of the tech section but all of us over there did a lot of jobs – I wrote game reviews and helped proof pages and stuff like that, too. I did that for about 5 years. Then I moved out to San Francisco to work as an editor at ExtremeTech.com, covering all sorts of stuff in the enthusiast PC industry. I did that for about 5 1/2 years, but they laid everyone at ExtremeTech off back in June. Now I do freelance work.
